The varsity has been hard at work producing protective personal equipment (PPE), with the most current cumulative amount totalling A SINGLE, 500 masks and 2 HUNDRED wash bags.

Elizabethan Academy principal Christine Horrocks have been instrumental in securing the revolutionary equipment via the Nottinghamshire Bid Snowboard community, which has as well helped with technical tips and support and substance donations, in addition to the new equipment.
She described: “It has been an incredible community effort, with the new laser cutter significantly raising how much PPE face visors we are able to make to 400 per day. Not only are the actual teachers pitching in, but around 30 kids of key workers will be currently attending school and helping to collect the masks and clothing bags, which is benefiting any nearby community and, in a large number of cases, the parents plus relatives of our enrollees.
“We have been overwhelmed through the demand for the PPE were producing, ” continued Mrs Horrocks. “Our focus to start with was towards local Bassetlaw providers, but we soon saw the requests come together from Yorkshire and Derbyshire health care services, who needed excess help.
“It was an emotional moment for people all when we gotten the news that EDF were buying the brand new equipment we so desperately needed. Our old laser cutter was in excess of ten years old and needed fixing quite often. We are so keen to aid our wonderful frontline staff in both instances and this will employ a huge impact. ”
Andy Powell, grow manager at West Burton B, extra: “We just knew we had to help when we heard of the amazing effort your volunteers at Elizabethan Academy were doing to support frontline workers stay safe at the office. As they say, all people are in this together and we are proud to play our part in keeping the lasers cutting. ”
PPE production is just not the only action currently happening in the Elizabethan Academy. The school has recently been busier than ever during the time of lockdown, with ONE HUMDRED AND FIFTY disadvantaged students receiving your welfare check-in plus cost-free school meals via minibus.
