馬會在新季推出「靈活玩」及「位置單一賠率」，香港朋友不需大驚小怪。前者九十年代在澳洲已盛行，後者根本是世界先進賽馬國家一直採用的方法，只是香港唔知點解，業餘時代用一開三，久而久之令馬迷有派彩較高的錯覺，因謬成俗而已！
先進賽馬國家講公平，英愛澳紐法任何位置派彩都是自己顧自己，大熱賠少啲，大冷賠多啲，唔會因為熱門馬有冷馬入圍而派彩較高，又唔會冷馬因為熱門馬入圍而分少了派彩。最典型例子是新馬場合有兩匹頂頭大熱門入前三名，另一匹入圍位置馬是九十九倍大冷，通常這匹大冷門的位置在香港的派彩會低到無人信，反而兩匹熱門的位置就分多一個幾毫。
我知道有一兩個電子傳媒的主持是熱門位置大鎚手，成日望冷門入嚟分多幾元，佢就贏多好多，如果行新制而他們大力反對，就明顯是有利益衝突，意見是否中肯就見仁見智了！
其實「位置單一派彩」令馬會蝕水風險減低，因為馬迷見十元只派十元一角，根本就不會下注；但這玩法會否影響位置的投注額，還有待證明。
