周初IFHA(國際賽馬組織聯盟)公布了一些頗有趣的數字，在這裏與各位分享和細味。
二○○七年全球賽馬總投注額為八九○億歐元，折港幣九千三百億，如用香港全季總投注額六百幾億計算，即佔百分之六點五至七左右，但一看稅款分布，全球賽馬博彩上繳政府的稅款是八十億歐元，香港馬會要向政府一季包底八十億港元，即佔全球百分之九點五。一比之下香港賽馬會除是全港慈善機構最大捐獻者外，向政府繳稅的比例遠超其他先進賽馬國家，可謂「勞苦功高」了！但近幾年政府對馬會做了許多不太公平的事(如起初構思興建跑馬地站要馬會畀錢)，甚至作出攻擊(部分反對派反對十八歲以下人士入場)，這些事都頗令人氣餒。
香港在這個IFHA報告裏有一個項目排行首位，就是平均每場賽事獎金全球最高！香港馬主都尚算幸福，但原來香港每場出馬雖然滿額場次佔多，平均每場出馬數目卻不及愛爾蘭，以平地賽計算，愛爾蘭平均每場超過十三匹呢！
