法國：波爾多Saint-Emilion產區的分級

波爾多Medoc區列級酒莊的級別是在1855年訂立的，主要是左岸酒，不包括右岸酒。右岸的著名產區Saint-Émilion直至1954年才有正式分級並於1986年修訂，而右岸的另一產區Pomerol至今未有任何分級。

Saint-Émilion的酒主要分為兩個級別：「Grand Cru Classé」及「Premier Grand Cru Classé」。其中「Premier Grand Cru Classé」又分兩級，最高級的是「Premier Grand Cru Classé A」共有兩間酒莊，包括Cheval Blanc（白馬）及近年冒升的Ausone（奧松）；其次是「Premier Grand Cru Classé B」，有13間酒莊。「Grand Cru Classé」有46間，而只標示「Grand Cru」的並不屬于Saint-Émilion的分級，是最普通的，沒有級別的酒莊。

此制度每10年評審一次，上次修訂是在2006年。但由於部分酒莊不滿評級而上訴，法院宣布維持1996年評級，即Premier Grand Cru Classé A有兩間，Premier Grand Cru Classé B有11間，Grand Cru Classé共55間。

其他有評級的地區包括Graves區及甜酒區Sauternes及Barsac。要對波爾多葡萄酒有認識，了解地區名稱及分級制度是必須的。
