Mirror of Mind

One reason for studying language –

and for me personally the most compelling reason –

is that it is tempting to regard language, in the traditional phrase,

as “a mirror of mind”  

Chomsky, 1975a:4

I think every student who studies linguistics must know Chomsky.

Why is Chomsky important?  

He has revolutionized linguistics, and in so doing has set a cat among the philosophical pigeons.  

He has shown there is really only one human language that immense complexity of the innumerable language we hear around us most be variations on a single theme...

Language is the study of human mind！

Being a linguistics researcher,

I do have confident in using language appropriately but

for reading human’s mind – suddenly  

I feel puzzle and wordless….

Linguist！  maybe I’m not qualified ...
