早前預約的書也到手，總共１５大元，還有一本，仍然留在「呀爸癲」，而且我那錯手地一約，它還在等，等我……不見不散直至預約期滿。它會恨我嗎？會以後也不願見我嗎？？？！！

Reading- About Desktop Publishing

Recently been reading three books booked from public libraries. They are about graphic design, typography and QuarkXPress respectively. The last one is what I am most unfamiliar with.

I did some exercises on the first one, by AI and PS. What I lack is the programme called Freehand. I plan to copy down some notes about it, trying to use other softwares to do what it can do first, then wait for the circumstance to getting this software (and a MAC). There should be many things unique in this software. If not, there should be many things easier and quicker to do with it instead of with other softwares. (Hey, is the word ‘software’ uncountable? Or is MS Word too sensitive with this word with a red snake drawn underneath it?)

The second one was written by a scholar with splendid writing skills. It is probably the ‘warmest’ technical book I have ever read, with the casual atmosphere the writer ｃ ｒｅａｔｅd.13 chapters… I today finished reading one, planning to read a chapter per day till the deadline to return it. Chapter 1 recalled my memory about designing a poster with PageMaker in my Year 1 schooling of associate degree: The screen may show a jagged graphic but it does not matter with the printing quality.

QuarkXPress! What many publishing company requires their designers to know, especially with a MAC working on. Tool bars, function keys… It is time for me to photocopy what this software contains.
