Sideways劇中的錯誤 — Cheval Blanc 1961

星期日下午電視上重播「龍鳳鬥」，劇中的劉德華和鄭秀文一起在紅酒店偷走人家震店之寶，一支1961年既Cheval Blanc，立刻另我想起電影Sideways…

和許多葡萄酒愛好者一樣，我喜歡這部電影，我真的覺得劇本是這部電影的靈魂，不過劇情還是有前後矛盾的地方。看過電影的人都會記得，也許是全劇最難忘的一句對白，“If anyone orders Merlot, I’m leaving. I am not drinking any f***ing Merlot.”

同時，葡萄酒愛好者都記得主角Miles的寶貝收藏，一瓶1961 Cheval Blanc紅酒，本來應該在高級餐廳慢慢品嘗，但最後只能在快餐店用紙杯喝光了。一個以新世界加州為根的人，最喜歡的葡萄酒還是舊世界。

但Cheval Blanc是Cabernet Franc和Merlot混釀出來的紅酒，如果劇情說Miles是一位old Burgundy的愛好者，那不是更合情理嗎? 還是編劇故意來的一個巧妙的諷刺?

Chateau Cheval Blanc可以說是Bordeaux其中一支最好和最昂貴的葡萄酒，而1961年被認為是20世紀最好的年份之一，Robert Parker給了它93分，並給酒這樣的評價：

“I have consistently mistaken this wine for a great Graves in tastings where it has appeared. Opaque dark ruby/garnet with a rust-colored edge, this wine has a big, full-blown bouquet of burnt tobacco, and earthy,gravelly scents. On the palate,it is sweet, ripe, full-bodied, extremely soft and supple, and clearly at its apogee. I have noticed above-normal bottle variation with the 1961 Cheval Blanc, but the best bottles of this wine are marvelously rich, lush wines. Anticipated maturity Now – 1997. “

當喝到好的Merlot，我還是喜歡它的，但我必須承認我有點同意Miles，大部份市場上買到中下價的Merlot，多數都令人失望。但我最遺憾的，還是從未擁有過任何一年的Cheval Blanc。
