睇笑話學英文

梁同學以英文Return Home Card 來形容回鄉證，相信令不少莘莘學子忽然醒覺原來回鄉證英文係Home Return Permit，正名叫做港澳居民來往內地通行證（Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents）。

不過，佢地知唔知香港身份證英文又係咩嘢呢？駛唔駛梁同學又嚟俾個錯誤嘅示範呢吓？

以下係英文Complete 同 Finished 呢兩個字嘅應用方法。

Complete 字典解釋係：完整的、全部的(finish係其中一個同義詞)

Finished 字典解釋係：完成的、結束了的

兩字看來不單解釋差不多，甚至可以掉亂嚟用；但實際上，佢地係有分別嘅，以下呢段英文就解釋得好傳神：

When you marry the right woman, you are "complete". If you marry the wrong woman, you are "finished." And, when the right woman catches you with the wrong woman, you are "completely finished."

上述文字簡單嚟講：

當你娶啱左人，你呢世就好完滿(complete)、但假如你娶錯左人，你呢世就完蛋(finished)；又如果你老婆捉姦在床，你就徹底玩完(completely finished)。
