選校不宜只考慮名氣

Dear Mr Cheung May I have your comments on the ｓ ｅｌｅｃｔion of university in the US?

My daughter is a Gr 12 IB student in one of the international schools in HK. She has been accepted by Washington University in St Louis and UCLA. She wants to study science but not yet decided which area to major in yet. She chose to apply Wash U is because of its academic standard and is considered as a far reaching U by herself.

IB HL : Econ, Chem, Chin B

IB SL : Eng, Math, Bio

ACT : Superscore 31

The only thing we know is UCLA is well known in HK in many aspects, whereas Washington U is not.

If you need more information, I am more than happy to provide you. Which one should we choose?

本人育有兩名女兒，將安排於本年九月入讀英國同一所寄宿女子中學year 9和year 7，以下一些女兒的簡略資料和問題，敬希抽空回覆。

以下三間學校已取錄，那間較好較適合兩位女兒入讀呢？

1: Malvern St James

2: The Royal High Bath，通過考試後收大女Year8和二女Year7

3: Queenswood 剛到英國參觀過以上三間學校有以下感覺。

☆Malvern設施比較舊，宿舍一般，學生非常有禮，校譽也比較好。

☆The Royal High設施較新和完善。

☆Queenswood最大優勢是近機場。

我希望為女兒選擇一間小班，能專注女兒學科和注重培育品格德行的學校，在上網也看過一些Ranking和介紹也未能作決定，請代選擇。

近機場不算是一個優勢！宜選The Royal High或Malvern。
