無論泛民抑或建制派，都會支持賽馬業帶來的稅收，以及馬會對多個慈善、教育和民生項目的捐獻。誰會拒全港第一大善長於千里之外？而入口馬質素日益提高，令近年世界馬王排行榜見到多匹香港馬名列前茅，而「步步友」早前更榮登榜首。老實說，香港有哪個體育項目可以如此振奮人心？
以前可能只是馬迷才留意馬圈，現在的馬圈多姿多彩，娛樂名人養馬所帶起的哄動，明星入場的震撼，甚至政界人物也被記者在馬場扑咪。一份報紙現在除馬經版外，娛樂、港聞和財經都常常有提及馬圈。馬圈已變成香港社會的縮影。
大家應懂得電視台收視率根本已不重要，報章的正面報道，網站的宣傳，雜誌的花絮，賽果可能對馬迷和博彩人士重要，但馬圈衍生的其他事項，可能令各階層更有共鳴。
