上月底英國一代著名走位評述員彼得奧蘇利雲逝世，享年九十七歲。他文學根底深厚，有急智，雖然講馬語調不算鏗鏘，也不是用提氣式的廣播腔，但講大賽經驗，無出其右，也堪稱一代宗師。我自己珍藏有不少其評述，最珍貴的是柏葛廿九場經典賽全集（復出後憑「特里安廬」贏第三十場）的錄影帶。
而澳洲一代評述專家塔比(John Tapp)今年是出道五十周年，彼邦電視台替他大事慶祝，塔比就是字正腔圓的那種廣播腔，而且評述不偏不倚，不疾不快，是官方評述的最佳典範。在他身上，你是完全不會感覺到他下注了哪匹馬，又或偏好哪匹馬。我廿多年來的走位評述，就是依足塔比的宗旨。年輕或市井的一代，可能喜歡破鑼腔的嗌馬方式講走位，這是我輩不會做的。不是誰對誰錯，而是每代風格不同，不應比較。
當然講越洋賽就無人比我更肉緊，一來有香港馬在場必定目光聚焦，讓香港馬迷能分享；二來越洋賽在自由國度，海闊天空無羈絆，更是一流大賽日，良駒雲集，人也格外醒神！

To express anything at all one must work untill one can say what one means in its entirety otherwise one will express a peer groups distrust and desire to avoid the issue. The bottom line is to study practical, basic, fundemental, primary, ground level technicalities of domestic level to know for sure one is known for sure and this aspect goes far and beyond the experience of the
