我亦向有線電視申請休假兩周，一月廿一日的「馬不停題」及「球彩大聯民」是我在豬年的最後節目，到年初五才與各位觀眾再會了。
不要覺得奇怪，因為外國電視台主持和賽馬評述員每年一樣有年假，就算馬照跑，新聞日日講，年假是應份的。
今年因為暑假裡要參予馬術賽的工作，人不是機器，不能由年頭踩行油到年尾，更何況今次南下澳洲及紐西蘭，除買馬外最大目的是安排兒子入學事宜。
贏多幾多錢，贏多幾多場馬，目前對我的意義都不大，而最重要的反而是健康和家庭。○三年尾曾患頗嚴重眼疾，當時無論出鏡、做其他工作及講現場走位，都要戴上黑超，觀眾和讀者根本不知何事，而這病足足兩個月才痊瘉。那時我開始明白其實許多事情都是過眼雲煙，也懂得甚麼叫放下。
如今在有線開正自己瓣數，做賽馬消閒和足智彩為民請命節目，馬會的現場旁述我自○六年起也刻意減少──其實這只是開始做回自己的第一步，但第二及第三步已啟動按鈕，聰明人慢慢細看吧！
