潮商中學 1957艱難歲月

三張相片清楚介紹出戰後，香港私校的艱難歲月。

我1955年入讀潮商中學初中一年級。當時全班人數差不多四十人以上。男生屈指一數也30 多人，可是一年後，1956年男生走淨 11 人，1957年畢業，男生只剩七人。

學生雞飛狗走，反映出：

第一。港英政策成功，教育司署 1949年舉辦小學會考，考生考得好，不單有獎學金，更可直升官立中學，學費平，出路好。

第二。英文中學吃香，中中是家長次選。不少同學去了英文書院，例如「新法」，「救恩」。

第三。潮商中學薄扶林新校舍，遲遲未動工，令到不少家長一早要搵定後路，就近轉去「培英」，未雨綢繆也。

第1，第2張初中畢業相，坐在正中的是關汪若校長，劉念端班主任，陳訓導主任。

那時是1957年8月7號，晚上在學校班房舉辦謝師宴。

過往的潮商中學畢業禮，因為學生人數多，家長多，潮州鄉親父老多，習慣包下高陞戲院，或太平戲院，或金陵酒家，大肆慶祝畢業典禮，1957年，學生只剩下15人，小學部相信也不多，可能是最艱難的一年了。

Photos of Chaoshang High School 1957 show that the school was very difficult that year, but surpassed it all for development. a school with a long history.
