A stuffy apartment

Whenever my friends come to my home, they say it is very stuffy. Even my part-time domestic helper often says my apartment (flat) is stuffy. They always suggest that I open the windows. I always tell them if I open my windows and balcony door, bugs will fly in. I hate having bugs in my apartment. They always insist bugs cannot fly very high. I live on the 36th floor. My friends and part-time domestic helper insist it is impossible for bugs to fly that high. I always tell them it is a fallacy to believe bugs cannot fly up to the 36th floor.

A stuffy apartment is an apartment that has no fresh air or ventilation. My apartment is often stuffy because I worry about bugs flying in if I open the windows. I also do not like to turn on the air-conditioner in the summer because it makes my nose uncomfortable. I use a fan instead when I sleep during the summer. The word “bug” used this way is an American slang word for insect, such as a mosquito. The word “fallacy” means something that a lot of people believe is true but is, in fact, not true. Many people believe mosquitoes cannot fly up to the 36th floor. This is a fallacy.

In fact, bugs such as mosquitoes, flies, bees, and wasps can fly very high. Sometimes, mosquitoes are blown by the wind to even the 60th floor. A few times, when I opened my windows and balcony door to make my apartment less stuffy, flies flew in. I often see dead wasps on my balcony floor. Mosquitoes that bite humans prefer to fly to around 25 feet. But they are able to fly as high as hundreds of feet. Mosquitoes have even been seen in the Himalayas. I can say as a fact that I have been bitten by mosquitoes in my apartment. It is a fallacy that they cannot fly very high.

Dear Michael,

Don't define anything which westerners do not do as peculiar. There are many reasons why they don't choose fruits by toching them or smelling them. Say, they may have low demands on quality of such items (look, they are easily satisfied by eating a ham sandwich as lunch) or they don't even know how to distinguish bad from good by touching and smelling the fruits. If you know what QC is in a factory, you will understand why people need to touch and smell. If you don't, I am speechless to converse with you.

Are you trying to say that consumers have no right to do QC like picking a better quality food item? Are you saying that doing this is classified as peculiar? Are you saying that all items are the same in supermarkets? Then can you explain to me why A's new iPhone X malfunctions after two days but B's iPhone X still works perfectly adter two years?
