2006 E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Blanc, France (Watson's $135)
明珠台星期六晚重播「酒佬日記」，同時喝了我買的第一支白酒，和經歷了一個奇妙旅程……我平時飲酒很有節制，但今次就有點失控，一直喝到感覺有點醉意才停止，看一看，已喝了大半瓶了。
這支色澤金黃的白酒，在甜酸度和果味上平衡得十分好，但最今人著迷是酒的香氣……我看過很多酒評，很多時都會描述葡萄酒酒的香氣，雖然我未能一一分別各種氣味，這個晚上，我就第一次感受到酒香迷人之處，也是我喝過最好的葡萄酒之一，絕對值得一試！

"The 2006 Cotes du Rhone white, which is a blend of about 55% Viognier and the rest Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, and Bourboulenc, is the best white Cotes du Rhone the Guigals have ever made. An amazing wine, I am not sure it doesn’t deserve an even higher score, but it was just about ready to go into the bottle when I tasted it. The wine reveals terrific honeysuckle notes intermixed with some white peach and tangerine skin in a medium-bodied, crisp, fruit-driven style with excellent acidity and depth. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. The Rhone Valley’s most successful producer continues to ratchet up the level of quality of his Cotes du Rhone cuvees, of which he produces hundreds of thousands of cases. Both Marcel Guigal and his son Philippe realize how important quality is and demonstrate that commitment in these lower level wines. They just get better and better, which is incredibly admirable."
