問：現有關於加拿大升學的問題請教先生。 1.在加拿大報讀藥劑科是否是四年制的？ 2.如能順利完成四年藥劑科後，是否己是藥劑師？ 3.再想報讀醫科時是否可以過渡？會否欠缺科目？或雖補修科目？

答：加拿大的院校絕少直接取錄高中畢業生讀藥劑。有意在加國讀藥劑者，一般要最少修讀兩年本科課程然後轉科，或完成本科後再讀碩士課程。因此整個修讀年期大約為四至五年，詳細情況視乎個別院校而定。讀完藥劑學位後，需要實習最少一年才可以成為註冊藥劑師。至於報醫科方面，醫科收生取決於學生的能力，因此首要條件是你的本科成績必須十分突出和優秀，你才有機會轉科成功。

問：Dear Mr Cheung, I am a F.6 student of a local Band 1 school and a great fan of your column in the Headlines. I would like to ask for your valuable advice regarding university application. Currently studying HKDSE Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Music and Maths (M2) as the electives, I am one of the top students of a prestigious Band 1 school. I have got numerous awards and qualifications in ECA activities, like the Fellowship Diploma of Trinity College London in Piano Recital (FTCL) and The Hong Kong Island Ten Outstanding Students Award. Also, I have exposure to some International Music Festivals in recent years. I intend to apply for the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery programme of HKU and CUHK. However, as a back-up, I would also like to apply for some medical schools in UK in case my HKDSE results turn out to be not satisfactory. I would be pleased if you could suggest a few medical schools in UK I should apply. I just want to add: I have taken IELTS in August this year and have got an overall score of 8.0.

答：依你說，你的條件應該十分優厚，若然能夠在文憑試中保持水準，在面試中有同樣出色的表現的話，要入讀港大中大醫科理應問題不大。在英國選校方面，由於當地醫學院有三十餘間，你可以因應自己的程度選擇合適的院校報讀。Glasgow，Southampton、Leeds和Queen's, Belfast的醫學院都是收生成績較低而又不錯的選擇。
