這與賽馬聯盟會議最不同的是，賽馬聯盟會議由各國馬會及賽馬機構主導，但國際賽周除賽事及拍賣會外，幾乎全世界頂尖拍賣行的要員，知名馬販、育馬者和頂級練馬師，都會「趁墟」招攬生意。
