倫敦夏蕙酒店於雙十節重開──它們固然是寓意十全十美。
夏蕙及麗斯都是英國招牌酒店，前者幾乎成為一級愛情大片的指定場地，後者因有高級賭場會所，廣為招徠大豪客。
夏蕙不是普通遊客負擔得起的酒店，以皇家雅士谷賽期來說，客房動輒接近五百英鎊一晚(折港幣六千多元)，飲杯下午茶食個鬆餅，幾十鎊埋單，但單是刀叉及杯碟的講究，再加上一流僕人式的服務態度，人一世物一世，絕對值得去一趟。
我知道近年有不少現代化的名牌酒店進軍英倫，我也住過好幾間，但講到氣派，一定是夏蕙──尤其是夏蕙身處歌劇院區，大把好歌劇睇。食得好，睇得好，住得好，是人生樂事。
香港以前也有夏蕙夜總會：事實上許多香港舊消費場所的名字，都或多或少沾上英國或上海銷金窩的風氣，例如當年麗池其實是麗斯另一個譯名，甚麼百樂門、老大昌的名字，都是上海搬來香港，四五六、老正興當然不用說。
