新航賽馬日改寫了今屆選馬王的圖樣，在跑KrisFlyer之前，「綽力之城」贏金莎軒一時無兩，馬主亦是傳媒寵兒；但今次「天久」衞冕成功，打破未有馬在該賽連捷的紀錄，又贏過香港主席獎兼遠征墨爾本萬利加多錦標輸短頭跑第二，除非「崇山寶」能在皇家雅士谷贏皇席錦標(亦未必會成行)，否則短途馬王必為「天久」。
同樣中距離王在「軍事出擊」落敗新航盃之後，應是「威爾頓」的囊中物。挾經典盃、打?及女皇盃三連捷，專業評審隊伍不會作他想。至於長途馬王，「多名利」憑香港瓶之勝是執了半隻盃耳，除非遮打盃大敗在「威爾頓」蹄下又作別論。而就算其他馬匹贏遮打盃，「多名利」贏香港瓶是九十年代後本地首度取得，更是首次贏二千四米國際一級賽，難度甚高。
一哩王反而考起人，香港一哩賽由「精彩日子」取得，若遠征安田成功或上名自然呼聲最高，因為「大運財」無贏過一哩一級賽，「步步友」只贏四歲的經典一哩賽，「將男」贏董事盃但姿態不從容。
選馬王？不到最後一刻也難有分曉。

To express anything at all one must work untill one can say what one means in its entirety otherwise one will express a peer groups distrust and desire to avoid the issue.
