自二零一二年年底開始，當海外的戰馬開始成熟，長、中及短綫的部署就開始，而每個月都一定有離港的旅程。
如果你們以為離港就一定是買馬，就小看了世界馬壇的複雜性。世界各地馬壇大部分練馬師的部署，都與馬主或其賽事經理有商有量，甚至有些大賽由馬主或其賽事經理報名，因為部分大馬主有馬匹縱橫多地或多個馬房，由賽事經理主打更能從整體上部署，而外國不少頂級練馬師，在賽事報名前都與自己的賽事經理及馬主或經理人交換好意見才落柯打。
香港由練馬師主導的報名方法當然在行政上有其道理，因為絕大部分香港馬主都是業餘，而且每人養馬最多四匹，與外國不少大馬主有數十甚至過百馬匹不同。
不過就算在港養馬，都寧與有商有量的練馬師合作，其實與自已合作過的練馬師都知道就算我不在港，馬兒仍可報名上陣，只要部署恰當，按牌理出牌便可。
