馬王頒獎典禮回歸傳統，明晚安排在酒店舉行。世界各地的傳統，都是以晚間舞會形式舉辦馬王頒獎禮，香港也實行了多年。但早幾年可能競爭激烈，部分獎項無法在煞科前頒發，又可能馬會考慮到方便或預算的問題，才索性於煞科日在沙田馬場賽事間頒獎。
不過，馬迷在馬場內較留心的賽事，頒獎禮會因而被忽略不足為奇。既然要將目光聚焦在馬王身上，一於在煞科前搞晚會，趁騎練馬主及馬會高層仍未放暑假，食餐好的齊齊開心，何樂而不為？
香港可以搞大型宴會的酒店不少，今次馬王頒獎禮選址君悅，這是傳統Ball場。我覺得這是正確選擇，一來周五晚上過海交通異常擠塞，往尖沙咀一帶往往要塞車個多小時，來賓隨時遲到。而港島區其他酒店，有些的Ball Room不夠大，舉辦大型派對不合適，最佳選擇不外乎是君悅了，這亦是Ball場搞手為何大多鍾情君悅的原因。
