與星馬朋友談過香港賽馬，他們欽羨香港的投注額及馬場入場人數，但我也要讚謂他們待客熱情，賓至如歸，一切現場上至主席下至工作人員，都是由心出發。
有一點他們積極要拓展的，就是新馬迷和新會員的市場，從而是希望他們成為新馬主。我告訴他們首先是政府有開明的態度對待賽馬業；令居民接受賽馬不等於博彩。有些地方華人養馬不敢用自己名，寧用馬房或團體名，目的是避免生意夥伴或銀行以為他爛賭。這就是賽馬業為何彼邦不能騰飛的主因，連最想威水的拉頭馬也遮遮掩掩，養馬自己也不敢認，也難怪年青一代根本提不起興趣。
香港競駿會的概念或者適合星馬借鏡，年青一輩不需要付高昂入會費，有賽馬日聚腳點，也有人搞活動，讓他們先了解要竅，也能培養了一班有興趣的人去接班。香港競駿會成員已有個別成功升格為馬會賽事會員，更成為馬主，足見計劃的確成功地培養接班第二代！
