在今季新自購馬入口制下，紐西蘭馬固然更難進級，因彼邦獎金太低，好馬外流，本土賽事水準自然低落，兩捷也不能進級香港的馬，比比皆是，但就算去到澳洲，部分省份情況也好不到哪裡。
固然東岸悉尼及墨爾本城市馬場，就算只是週中三萬多四萬元獎金的賽事取勝，仍可能夠資格以普通自購馬運港(七十分)，但南澳洲或昆士蘭的周中賽事獎金較低，一捷周中城市頭馬，獎金只得兩萬澳元或以下，水準不及七十分當然正常。但有部分周末的城市馬場兩歲馬賽事，獎金雖然可以高達六萬五千元，但取勝後仍只值六十多分，未夠七十的資格。
夠資格的馬口大為減少，獸檢又要三師會審十分嚴格，難怪馬價今季大幅飊升之餘，想找到馬肯出售也不容易。中東陣營是不賣馬的，部份練馬師也用得甚盡及跑得多，香港馬主亦不會沾手，況且墨爾本周末城市頭馬獎金已加到最低九萬澳元，有隻種好的馬，我怎會平價賣給你？
