馬王「翠河」試過一季六捷，「精英大師」也在二級賽挫敗「上浦福將」及「喜勁寶」而完成同樣壯舉。二者無獨有偶都是未敗雄師。
「飛躍龍門」六捷後，在邁向七捷時卻影相飲恨跑第二。「再豐裕」去季在打吡預賽飲恨也令牠與七捷無緣。執筆時「勇敢小子」這匹六捷馬仍在雙魚河休息，今季未必會再上陣了。「美猴王」上仗被阻，連六捷也完成不了。
這個打破香港一季贏馬最多紀錄的使命，就負托在「盈彩繽紛」身上。
「盈彩繽紛」在二班一「轉波」就贏「富高勝」及「虎虎生輝」，泥地一班賽惡鬥輕牠廿四磅的「天久」，兩者拋甩其他對手如「威騰」等四個多馬位。周日牠挑戰七捷的壯舉，平均對手不但比上兩仗弱，而且賽事條例對其亦有利，高踞一百一十多分的「盈彩繽紛」在新馬短途錦標，對每匹對手都賺磅賺到暈。
來季「盈彩繽紛」能否贏級制賽，不是本文討論範圍，但一個自職業時代都無馬可打破的紀錄，相信可在剛好可參加改制後的新馬短途錦標情況下完成，而「盈彩繽紛」就做到不少馬王做不到的事情！
