如果神奇百萬根據傳統在一月第二個周末舉行，那就嗚呼哀哉了，因為昆士蘭省傾盆大雨引發水浸，上周末鷹園及黃金海岸的日賽要全部取消。
不過昆士蘭省很大，就算大家在電視鏡頭上看到水浸處處，水災地方其實距離布里斯本市超過百哩，黃金海岸只是大雨卻無水浸，而且取消上周末賽事，令場地不會變得更壞，看情況廿多年來一直鴻福齊天，未有因天氣或其他原因間斷過的神奇百萬大賽，本周末應可繼續順利進行。
至於今次神奇百萬會否買馬，我仍未決定，主要視乎三點：(一)馬匹質量如何。(二)未來澳元走勢。(三)獸醫測檢結果。三者缺一不可。大家都知道用港元買馬的購買力，往往與美元強弱有關，兩年前金融風暴，用美元避險，拖低澳元及紐元，前者一兌五，後者一兌四；如今前者上到接近一兌八，後者也一兌六，香港馬主購買力削弱了五至六成，買到好馬的機會就減低了。
