提到在港養雌馬，成功例子宛如鳳毛麟角，「勝威旺」、「金德寶」是近二十年罕見的成功例子，其餘的都乏善足陳。不去討論香港訓練環境和手法是否適合訓練雌馬，反而要告訴各位，近十多年香港不少資深馬主目光遠大，早已在外地擁有多匹一流雌馬，有部分先在級際賽爭取表現，然後再投入配種界，將血脈延續。
固然此舉有成功也有失敗，有個別朋友大肆投資牧場，結果因為經營不善，亦因被當地經理人鉗制住，做了幾年就不再見蹤影。不過一雞死一雞鳴，近年也有內地及澳門資金投資在澳洲不同省份的牧場，因為是剛起步，營運情況有待觀察。
以育馬角度看，其中最成功的例子，當然是擁有一流血統或賽績的雌馬，進可與一流雄馬交配，繼而高價出售子嗣；退也可以直接高價出售圖利。須知道雌馬不像雄馬般要閹割才能穩定情緒競賽，因少了睪丸激素，前胸反而不會發大到令前腳受壓，所以只要控制到情緒(當然要訓練環境配合)，跑幾年後可以配種，其實是世界育馬界的主流投資對象。
