聽了不少馬主老友的故事，有時真忍俊不禁。
有一些將新馬交給新相識練馬師，收馬時二話不說，又批扁平足，又話長短腳，總之彈到一錢不值，試過閘，當時毛色亦不靚，亦未上力，練馬師已叫退役，下一句是俾百幾萬佢，可以買隻好點的。馬主老友無奈退役，但決定不買新馬，反而將愛駒運回家鄉給原本練馬師，跑到現在兩勝多位，健康完全正常。
另外一位更精采，練馬師一收馬時又說這舊骨生得不好，有排煩。結果贏完一場又一場，仍是說這舊骨不好。老友不耐煩，說大可以不練，你的責任是練馬，不是百彈齋主，你不喜歡我可以走。
外國最頂級練馬師，不少態度好，人際關係一流，而且從不批評馬主馬匹。他們知道馬生成點都無所謂，最重要是了解馬兒性格，發揮最好性能，馬主就會源源不絕有新馬加盟。
世界各地練馬師的營運不同，外國的主要收入是養馬費及獎金，間中有雄馬股份。不用賭博，大部分是正財。
