how many matches will be suspended for Adefxckyor
in today websites , many journalist guessed Adefxckyor will be banned from 4 to 6 matches , I keep looking if any breaking news from those websites but nothing received ???? what the hell the FA doing ????
how abt 10 match-ban ?
Eduardo got a two-match ban for diving.
Drogba got a three-match ban for outrageous abuse of the referee at the end of a Chelsea semi-final against Barcelona. That was reduced to two on appeal.
So what punishment is appropriate for kicking an opponent in the face?
And what punishment is appropriate for kicking a player in the face and later running 90 yards to provoke the fans of a club you left only 8 weeks ago?
A lot has already been written about this controversy, so I’m only going to make 6 brief points.
1. If Robin van Persie’s wild challenge had connected with Adebayor, RVP would have been sent off. No question, a straight red card.
3. If Clattenburg has seen Adebayor’s deliberate kick in Van Persie’s face, that was a red card and an automatic three-match ban and that’s the end of it.
Ade's goal and his obviously pre-meditated celebration would never have happened.
4. Animosity between the Arsenal players and Adebayor was clear and he knew it. That was why he skipped over RVP’s mad sliding “tackle.” Adebayor knew it was coming and he made sure he saw it coming and skipped over it. If Ade had not lifted his left leg, van Persie would have been sent off. And Ade’s right foot would have had no opportunity to kick him in the face. A footballer always knows exactly where his foot is.
5.Having not seen the stamp that raked and cut RVP’s cheek, Clattenburg ran past the Dutchman’s prone body and leaned down as he ran past him. That suggested the ref said something to the player. Was it, “ I saw your mad tackle”? Or was it “Get up!”
6. At 2-1, when Adebayor beat Bendtner on the touchline, Eboue had a hack at him and missed, Bendtner had a hack and missed, and Adebayor then nutmegged Gallas and cut the ball across the six -yard box but SWP stabbed it wide. By then the Arsenal players still angry about Robin being kicked in the face.
After the game Arsenal tried to seize the moral high ground by putting a statement on Arsenal.com on Saturday night.
This official statement was obviously sanctioned by Wenger.
Van Persie said, "I am sad and disappointed by my former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor's mindless and malicious stamp on me during today's match.
"We are both professional footballers and I know that the game is physical, I too have made hard and sometimes mis-timed challenges but never with the intention of hurting an opponent. He set out to hurt me today.
"I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made. He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.
"I do feel lucky that I have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimetres from my eye. I have not received an apology from him, there were no words exchanged afterwards. He had his own agenda today and that is bad for football. It's bad for the game we all love.
"I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the result of today's match. We do not hide from that disappointment but I need to speak out about his behaviour."
Personally, I would not put up that statement in those circumstances. It has a subtext : We've been to Manchester twice and got nothing and we're really fed up and we want to blame somebody, not ourselves.
Having said all that, I still reckon a 10-game ban would be right. A 6-game ban would send the wrong message to footballers, pro and amateur.
A 6-match ban says : You can kick a player in the face while he is on the ground and you’ll only miss six games.
That can’t be right. Not in 2009, not ever.
You can’t organise and promote a Respect campaign and let off Adebayor with a 6 -game ban.
