The France international enjoyed a successful pre-season campaign - in contrast to 12 months ago when he suffered a fractured leg - but picked up an injury in Arsenal's opening game of the Premier League season against Liverpool.
Arsenal have confirmed that Nasri requires surgery and that the midfielder will now miss around four weeks of the season.
"Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri will today [Wednesday] undergo minor surgery on his knee following a meniscal 半月板 injury sustained during the match against Liverpool on Sunday," read a club statement. "Nasri, who has been in impressive form, will be out of action for a month."
Nasri impressed in the first half at Anfield as he deputised for captain Cesc Fabregas in a central role. However, the Spaniard is in contention to return for Saturday's game against Blackpool.
Arsenal have also seen Denilson and Alex Song suffer injury problems in the early part of the season although Johan Djourou has shrugged off a hamstring problem and is expected to play at the weekend with Laurent Koscielny suspended.
