Newcastle 0 Arsenal 4
It's not a walkover like the scoreline as 1st goal was a pure luck as the ball was bounced back to the net off the back of keeper's head just before the half time.
2nd goal was controversial while Bendtner intendedly blocked one of Newcastle's defender from offside position during the fast breakthrough of Walcott , but after the third goal scored by Bendtner then the game was sealed.
Who will be the next in QF ? Man United or Aston Villa ?

Newcastle United 0 Arsenal 4
Krul o.g 45, Walcott 53, Bendtner 83, Walcott 88
VERDICT : Comfortable victory, fluent team performance, good finishing by Theo Walcott.
Playing longer passes to a speed-merchant allows Arsenal to vary their game. But, as you know, Nasri plays in Walcott's position. Watch that space.
Although Arsenal were creating many more chances, Newcastle were unlucky with the first goal and had a good case against Bendtner's role in the second.
The giant Szczesny was excellent and made the save of the night when he tipped Alan Smith's 25-yard thunderbolt onto the bar and over - when it was 0-0. The Pole made another brave save at the feet of Ryan Taylor at 2-0 when Newcastle threatened to fight back. He also kept his concentration to save from Andy Carroll in the third minute of stoppage time. Walcott looked fast and sharp and finished coolly for both his goals. Rosicky was full of ideas in midfield, as you would expect in an open game against this sort of opposition.
Sadly, Kieran Gibbs was injured in the ninth minute while clearing from Routledge and was replaced by Sagna 10 mins later. Eboue switched to left back.
FIRST HALF
Arsenal were very much in charge for the first 15 minutes and the last 10. Walcott looked very dangerous early on and should have had a penalty when he was tugged back by Williamson but referee Marriner didn't spot it. Newcastle were only competitive for the middle 20 minutes, when they pressed well in midfield.
Bendtner had three chances, the first saved low down by keeper Krul after 50 seconds.
Newcastle should have scored against the run of play on 14 minutes. Nile Ranger broke past the visitors’ high defensive line but, having gone round Wojciech Szczesny outside the box, he wasn't steady enough and his shot was blocked by the cool Koscielny. Newcastle began to find their way, and had two half-hearted penalty appeals, both clearly ball to hand. Peter Lovenkrands slotted on 37, but was well offside. Eboue made a good 40th-minute run down the left, then made the wrong decision when he shot selfishly into the side netting with Vela unmarked in the middle.
The first goal came when Bendtner nodded back a half-cleared corner. Rosicky's head flicked the ball on, Koscielny tried to get a touch, which confused the defenders, Ryan Taylor's clearance hit keeper Krul on the back of the head and the ball rebounded into his own net.
Half-time : Newcastle 0 Arsenal 1
SECOND HALF
When Walcott calmly netted Arsenal's second in the 53rd minute, Newcastle protested bitterly because Bendtner came back from an offside position and obstructed Williamson. That was a revenge foul on a defender who had pulled Bendtner back in the first half, as he tried to support a Walcott break. Stupid foul by NB52 because Williamson would not have caught Walcott anyway.
Newcastle responded by bringing on Andy Carroll and Gutierrez and began to pose a bigger threat. Wenger replied by putting Fabregas for the feeble Vela with 20 minutes left. Arsenal controlled the closing minutes and hit Newcastle on the break. Bendtner robbed Guthrie and cut in from the left to fire a thunderous third. Then Koscielny's pass eluded JET in the centre circle but released the flying Walcott, who drilled hard and low for the fourth.
A Carling Cup result like Newcastle 0 Arsenal 4 shows the big gap between the squads of the Big Five and the squads of the Middle 10 and below.
The draw is Saturday lunchtime and Wenger claims to be taking the Carling Cup seriously. If Arsenal draw Man United, we'll find out if he means that.
Chris Houghton's priority is league points, a new contract and consolidation. He'll forget about the Carling Cup very quickly.

It's Wigan, yeah!
Re the 2nd goal, the english commentator said a lot against the new offside rule ... so I know he is of the same generation as me, as I favour the old offside rule with absolutely no grey area, haha!
