申亞撥款終於大比數被否決，老實說申亞是香港長遠目標，無必要急於其成，倉猝闖關，計數又舉棋不定，也無搞手振臂一呼維繫人心。不是說運動員如黃金寶等的陳情表無用，但他們的說話有代表性之餘，也充滿利益衝突。請記住申亞第一目標並不是幫到香港爭多幾面金牌，而是長綫替香港帶來甚麼裨益？在二千億打造的廣州亞運珠玉在前，貿貿然去推一個幾十億的方案，明眼人都知道草率兼必定做不來。今回議員們做了一件好事，就是令政府懸崖勒馬。
我一直在多個地方也說有保留地支持申亞，但不是二○二三，而是香港準備好時才一擊即中。說甚麼二○二三別人不會申辦，我們機會大云云，其實要撫心自問，二○二三年用這幾十億甚至最後超支到幾百億做得來嗎？
打開天窗說亮話，其實議員們用否決撥款去否決申亞，只是一種方法。因為問題不是錢，而是民心背向。
