Last week, I bought a specialty battery for replacing my grandpa’s hearing aid. It is fact that not many places sell hearing aid battery and I have done some web search and got some fun facts about that and would like to share with you all.

Hearing aid battery life? A standard hearing aid battery lasts 3 to 22 days, depending on the type of hearing aid, battery type and capacity, frequency of use of the hearing aid, and flow rate.

How often should I replace hearing aid battery? Depending on how often you wear your hearing aid, you may need to change the battery twice a week or twice a month. You may need to replace your hearing aid battery if any of the following occur: -          The sound is distorted or you need to increase the volume of your hearing aid. -          A “low battery” buzzer or sound indicates that the battery is low and needs to be replaced.

What is a hearing aid protective seal? A small sticky colored tab on each battery is also a protective seal. These protective seals prevent the battery from discharging. When the seal is removed, the hearing aid battery begins to discharge. Therefore, do not delete it until you use it.

How to maximize the battery life of your hearing aid? After removing the protective seal from the battery, the battery will begin to discharge. However, there are some steps you can take to minimize battery consumption. - When you are not using your hearing aid, close it or open the battery cover. Note: Always open the battery door at night to prevent moisture from escaping and to prevent battery corrosion. - If the hearing aid will not be used for a long time, remove the battery completely. Can be stored in the protective case of the hearing aid. - Do not store batteries or hearing aids in extreme temperatures, high or low. The battery life and consumables will be shortened.

Tips for cleaning your hearing aid battery - Store the hearing aid battery at normal room temperature. - Do not refrigerate. - Wash your hands thoroughly before replacing the batteries. Battery grease and dirt can damage your hearing aid. - Open the battery compartment of your hearing aid at night to avoid leaking moisture. This will prevent the battery from corroding and damaging the hearing aid. - Immediately remove used batteries. A fully discharged battery may swell and may be difficult to remove. - Batteries in hearing aids often turn off suddenly, so it"s always a good idea to carry a spare battery pack with you. - Keep the replacement battery away from coins, keys, or other metal objects to prevent discharge. - How about a rechargeable hearing aid battery? - An increasing number of hearing aids allow the use of rechargeable hearing aid batteries or have rechargeable technology. Please see the lineup of rechargeable hearing aids from here.

Good Day and See ya!
